The Panthers and the Sea Eagles meet on Sunday night, and I’m expecting this one to be much closer than the bookmakers anticipate. That’s because they fell away tamely in the second half last week against the Dragons, making it two defeats from their last three. Yes, they had players away on Origin duty, but it will be a similar lineup in this one, so their struggles could continue.

Despite only winning one of their last four, the Sea Eagles aren’t playing too badly right now. They beat league leaders Melbourne last time out and went down by a single point to the Broncos the previous week. In fact, if you look at their last seven matches, they never appear to be out of the game right up until the final whistle. This could certainly be the case here against a depleted Panthers pack, especially as the bookmakers are offering a generous lead.
