Hawthorn v Brisbane Lions, Marvel Stadium

26 May, 2024

Sam Mitchell’s team will be licking their wounds this week after blowing a 41-point lead and
conceding two goals in 30 seconds to lose against Port Adelaide. But Hawthorn can also
take confidence out of how they played in a dominant first half. The Hawks have been
Brisbane’s bogey side since 2020, winning their last four encounters. But this will be the first
time the teams have faced off at Marvel Stadium, a venue the Lions love playing at.
Brisbane have surged back into form on the back of the exuberance of youth, headlined by
Rising Star nominee Kai Lohmann. Surely this will be the Lions’ first victory against
Hawthorn since 2019.

TIP: Brisbane Lions by 19 points, Jarrod Berry to have 20 or more possessions
