Tigers vs Raiders by Dean McHugh

Week 16 ends on Sunday night as the Tigers host the Raiders at the Campbelltown Stadium. After losing nine in a row, the Tigers finally got back in the win column last week with a well-deserved victory over the Titans. Another win here could see them dreaming of making a late run for a playoff spot.

Standing in their way are the Raiders, who were poor last weekend, losing by 18 points to the Cowboys at home in Canberra. The Raiders are generally hard to beat most weeks, but if you can get on top of them and open up a bit of a gap, they tend to struggle. Their last four defeats have come by margins of 18, 28, 40 and 24. 

However, history suggests that won’t be the case here, as they have beaten the Tigers in eight of their previous nine encounters. In fact, they have only lost once away to the Tigers since 2015, so there is every reason to be optimistic here. I’m going to tentatively go with the trend and tip up the Raiders to continue this great run. I do believe the Tigers will have taken great confidence from their win last week, but on the face of it, the Titans have now lost three of their last four, so perhaps that victory wasn’t as good as it seemed.
