Randwick Best Bets Preview: April 20th with Nick Foot

Race 4 – G3 FRANK PACKER PLATE 3YO SW (2000 METRES)

#2 Noisy Boy – $21/$5

Finished 2nd in the Tulloch Stakes two back beating home KINTYRE, SALTCOATS and WYMARK who he meets here again at level weights and is 4 times the price. Was a touch flat on the quick backup in the Derby and drops back to 2000m. I’d love to see the stable and Jay Ford be more positive here from the wide draw on the fit horse, he has won before at this track when leading. Worth an EW play.

Race 5 – G3 HALL MARK STAKES SWP (1200 METRES)

#7 Front Page – $2.2

Hard not to gravitate towards this bloke after he led everywhere bar the post in The Galaxy. Gets back to Randwick, is 2/2 this track/trip and Tyler Schiller has a terrific relationship with the horse and will be able to dictate from the top.

Race 6 – G3 JRA PLATE Qlty (2000 METRES)

#12 Fawkner Park – $5.5

Dominant win LS in the Albury Cup, got home in one of the Fastest closing splits of the meeting over the 2000m. Stays at the trip, drops 3kg off that win and maps to get a soft run with Tyler Schiller who remains in the saddle. He looks to have another peak run in him.

Race 7 – G1 CHAMPAGNE STAKES 2YO SW (1600 METRES)

#3 Broadsiding – $7

The Fernhill winner is on the 7 day backup and is the only winner in the race at the mile. He showed a terrific turn of foot once clear to win and this setup isn’t too dissimilar.

Race 8 – G1 ALL AGED STAKES WFA (1400 METRES)

#12 Southport Tycoon – $6.5

Has had 2 Warwick Farm trials since the Australian Guineas win, the latest was an absolute corker, making ground from the back of the field under next to no riding. The Aus Guineas formline is red hot, subsequent G1 winners VEIGHT and RIFF ROCKET in behind. Looks to get a sweet map in behind a strong tempo, back to 1400m of no concern in what looks to be strong tempo.
