Raiders vs Roosters Preview by Dean McHugh

The Raiders sit one place above their visitors in this one, yet the bookmakers have this down as a convincing win for the away side here. There is no doubt that Sydney is a better side than Canberra, and their performances as of late have been top-notch. However, I couldn’t possibly take them at such short odds against a team that sits above them in the ladder.

Anyone thinking of taking the Roosters at such short odds should also be reminded that they have lost the last three straight to the Bulldogs, too. The sensible play here is to back points and plenty of them. The Roosters have the best attack in the league this season, and Canberra has only once failed to score above 20 points at home in their previous six matches. That came against the Sharks, who have the best defence in the NRL.
