Panthers vs Cowboys Preview by Dean

The Panthers host the Cowboys at the BlueBet Stadium on Sunday, and this one could be a belter. Both teams come into the game in great form, having won three of their previous four games. They both have plenty to play for too. The Panthers will be hoping to secure the win and heap pressure on table-toppers Melbourne. The Cowboys are looking to cement their place in the Playoffs, having moved into a playoff spot following last week’s win against Canberra. 

Given how closely matched the teams are right now, it’s hard to see why the Panthers are such strong favourites, especially with them missing some key players who are away on Origin duty. I was leaning towards taking the Cowboys with the handicap, but they have a dreadful record against the Panthers, especially in Penrith, where they have lost four on the bounce.

With the hosts missing some firepower in attack, I’m going to take the Cowboys to keep them at bay here. The Cowboys have only conceded over 28 points once in their last eight matches and only once in their previous six games against the Panthers.
