Broncos vs Panthers Preview by Dean McHugh

Friday night’s action comes from the Suncorp Stadium and the Broncos host the Panthers in a repeat of last year’s Grand Final. The Panthers will be hoping the result is the same and they have every reason to believe it will be given they have beaten Brisbane in seven of their last eight matches against them.

However, neither team are playing like they will reach the Grand Final at present, but a win here could be the springboard they both need to get things going. With so much uncertainty around both teams, I’m finding it hard to pick a winner with any confidence. So, I’m going to take my namesake (okay, the spellings are a bit different) to get over the try line in this one. Deine Mariner has been the stand-out player for the Broncos this season, and having scored three tries in his previous two matches, he comes into this one in great form.
